CANDON CITY -- With precision, patience, and perfectly judged throws, Ilocos Surโs bocce tandem Renica Marie Escala and Gabriel Ysmael Gat-eb delivered a standout performance to clinch gold in the Mixed Doubles event of the Paragames during the Region I Athletic Association (RIAA) Meet 2026, securing their spot in the Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur.
Demonstrating control on the court, the duo executed strategic pallino placements and well-calibrated bocce rolls, consistently gaining advantage in each end. Their ability to deliver accurate point balls and timely spocking plays kept their opponents at bay, ultimately sealing the victory in commanding fashion.

Escala and Gat-eb, both Learners with Special Educational Needs (LSENs), showcased not only skill but also composure under pressure, capitalizing on every scoring opportunity while maintaining consistency throughout the match.ย
Guided by coaches Mary Joy Salgado and Cheryl Cabanit, the pair exhibited discipline and tactical awareness, reflecting the teamโs focused preparation for the competition.ย
